Rain washes out Michigan Traditional Sprint Show at Merritt Speedway
For the second time in three weeks Mother Nature wasn’t playing nice at Merritt Speedway. Just as the Michigan Traditional Sprints took to the track for hot laps, the skies opened and soaked the track sending the sprinters back to the pits. With a light rain still falling MTS and Merritt officials gathered to discuss the possibility of working in the track but the radar indicated heavier showers to come in the near future and the show was canceled. As predicted the showers arrived 45 minutes later and flooded the track and infield.
